Dear Netflix Bingers

By Bell Long

Dear Netflix Enthusiasts,

Have you found yourself sitting in a dark room at 2pm on a Saturday not yet having smelt the sweet air of the outdoors? Have you spent more than 20 minutes scrolling through your ‘Top Picks for ‘insert name here’ and found nothing? Have you been just 20 minutes into a super boring history class and wished you had SOMETHING to watch on your computer while pretending to be working on a project.

Welcome to the Hoofprint’s very own “What to Watch NEXT-flix”. A list of TV shows to watch according to genre preference.

If you have a track record of weekend-binging real life dramatic tv shows you may want to explore:

  • The Fosters
  • Switched at Birth
  • Gilmore Girls
  • Lost
  • Gossip Girl
  • Pretty Little Liars

    • The Vampire Diaries (a personal favorite and because vampires ARE real!)

  • Gotham
  • NCIS
  • One Tree Hill

If you are more interested in dramatic sci-fi/ fantasy TV shows may I suggest,

  • True Blood
  • Once Upon a Time
  • Supernatural
  • The 100
  • The Walking Dead
  • Merlin
  • Stranger Things
  • X-Files

If you are a diehard sitcom/comedy/rom-com/dramady (that last one’s a dramatic comedy) then Netflix can offer you:

  • Raising Hope
  • Crazy Ex Girlfriend
  • Jane the Virgin
  • My Name is Earl
  • Malcolm in the Middle
  • Freaks and Geeks
  • Drop Dead Diva
  • iZombie
  • The Office

  • That 70 Show (another personal favorite)

If you’re amidst a superhero/cartoons show crazing period then try watching:

  • The Arrow
  • The Flash
  • Supergirl
  • DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
  • Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

    • Gotham (because it goes here too)

  • Luke Cage
  • Daredevil
  • Jessica Jones

And if you have no specific interest in any of the subjects above, but do love baby animals (as all humans should), then may I personally suggest Baby Animals in the Wild.

If you have thoroughly read through this entire article and still have not even a single idea of what to watch next, then my suggestion is to pick up a hobby. This might actually be the universe telling you to give up on Netflix and take up knitting, or clover picking (?).

Also have nothing to watch.
